Connect Our Kids

Dr. Jennifer Jacobs, co-founder and CEO of Connect Our Kids, will be the speaker at this Thursday’s 6:30 PM dinner meeting at the Harvest Moon Restaurant at 7260 Arlington Blvd. Family-style Chinese dinner is $15 (cash or check).

Based in Falls Church City, Connect Our Kids is a privately funded organization collaborating with the public and private sectors to improve foster care outcomes. COK does this this through empowering child welfare professionals with intelligent technology tools. They intend to share these tools with America’s child welfare professionals in order to streamline foster care processes, and allow these professionals to focus on doing what they do best—helping children and their families.

The Rotary Club of Falls Church is celebrating 66 years of community "Service Above Self" in 2018 and meets the 1st and 3rd Thursday.

Wednesday evening, April 11th at 6pm ... it's our club's annual High School Music Competition, named in memory of Rotarian Carol Pierstorff for her love of music & service above self. Story of survival in WWII & post war years in Germany

This week’s meeting is:  Author, Col. Wolfgang Samuel, Story of survival in WWII and the post war years in Germany​.

Our guest speaker at the Thurs., June 6, dinner meeting will be:

Author, Col. Wolfgang Samuel, U.S. Air Force Retired.

Col. Samuel is author of “German Boy: A Child in War” and several other books. Check out the book here: https://amzn.to/2Hm1bn6

He will speak about his survival as a boy during and shortly after WWII in Germany. During his 30-year career in the U.S. Air Force he flew in the Vietnam War and the Cold War, earning the Distinguished Flying Cross three times.

Falls Church City Concert in the Park

July 19 = Concert in the Park Pot Luck Picnic , “Karl Stoll and the Danger Zone,” a blues band

 

This is club's annual pot luck picnic at Cherry Hill Farm, Falls Church City. Club provides fried chicken and beverages.
