Connect Our Kids

Dr. Jennifer Jacobs, co-founder and CEO of Connect Our Kids, will be the speaker at this Thursday’s 6:30 PM dinner meeting at the Harvest Moon Restaurant at 7260 Arlington Blvd. Family-style Chinese dinner is $15 (cash or check). Based in Falls Church City, Connect Our Kids is a privately funded organization collaborating with the public and private sectors to improve foster care outcomes. COK does this this through empowering child welfare professionals with intelligent technology tools. They intend to share these tools with America’s child welfare professionals in order to streamline foster care processes, and allow these professionals to focus on doing what they do best—helping children and their families. The Rotary Club of Falls Church is celebrating 66 years of community "Service Above Self" in 2018 and meets the 1st and 3rd Thursday. Meetings the 1st and 3rd Thursday each month. Refugee Welcome Kits Packing Party Time: (tentative) 2 - 4pm Location: Great Falls Library Please join us as we prepare to welcome new refugees to our community by putting together Welcome Kits of supplies. All kits will directly benefit refugees being resettled in our area by Lutheran Social Services of the National Capital Area Refugee and Immigrant Services, LSS works in partnership with the US State Department to welcome and resettle refugees from around the world, including Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and West Africa. Northern Virginia Returned Peace Corps Volunteers (NOVA RPCV) members are also joining the party, so let's DOUBLE our impact for the local refugee community! This is part of a series of Rotary-Peace Corps Partnership projects. All Rotarians and RPCVs are encouraged to help us put together these Refugee Welcome Kits. If you cannot attend to participate in person, you are invited to purchase and donate needed items for the Welcome Kits. A list and link of supplies needed is coming soon!
